2019 Badminton Section AGM
1. Tony Ang has been re-elected as convenor for 2019
2. Tony has appointed and formed his committee
comprising the following members:
Adrian Ng (Captain)
Chua Hock Huat
Mok Zhi Rong
Gan Seng Kuei
Kon Chee Keat
Lim Seh Kuan
3. Matters for attention:
(A) Section member's guest
If a member wish to bring his/her guest to join any
badminton section session, please text Tony in
advance for permission. Please note that up to 2
guests are allowed for each session; and each guest
can only play a maximum of 2 times per year.
(B) Shuttlecock etiquette
We have noted a 30% to 40% increase in shuttlecock
usage in the recent years. This has accounted for
60% to 70% of the section fund. We seek not to
over spend on shuttlecock and to better utilise our
section fund for other section activities. As such,
we would encourage some good practices to avoid
shuttlecock wastage:
• You may start a game with a new or usable oldshuttlecock. When you finish the game and if the
shuttlecock is still in reasonable playable condition,
please leave it on the pole stand (instead of
throwing it on the floor or into the box).
• If you are close to the end of a game and you
need to replace the shuttlecock, please pick one
from the pole stand instead of drawing a new
one from the tube.
• For warming up purposes, please use those
shuttlecocks on the floor/in the box.
(C) Re-flooring work
Our courts will be closed for major re-flooring work for
4 to 6 weeks, starting mid February. We would inform
you of the exact dates and the alternate location of the
section games in due course.
3. Appreciation
The committee would like to make special mention
of some individuals who have rendered great support
and contributions to our section activities such as organising NUSS close event, inter-club leagues, PAUM,
Sawasdee Cup, internal league and friendly games,
purchasing of shuttlecocks, ordering collection of
the shorts/skorts from JB, re-flooring project which
involved numerous meetings and site visits.
We greatly appreciate and a big thank you to:
Steve Boey, Chew JD, Jason Ho, Edward Poh, Goh TL,Francis Lee, Chng KK, Tham WM, Richard Ho (this list
may not be exhaustive)
