Inter-Section Games & Sports Night 2024

Dear Badminton Section Members,

 

Greetings from NUSS and Gong Xi Fa Cai!

 

The annual Inter-Section Games (ISG) and Sports & Recreation (S&R) Night is back.

 

This event will take place on Saturday, 20 April 2024, and promises a day of fun, excitement, and camaraderie!

 

Inter-Section Games (ISG)

 

Please refer to the attached ISG Game Playing Format.

 

Just so you know, all games will have to end at 6 p.m. The game's convenor will have the final say on all rules that determine the winning team.

 

For Pickleball, Badminton, Table Tennis & Tennis, participants must conform to the dress code and use non-marking sole shoes.

 

Sports & Recreation Night

Time: 6.30 pm (registration and cocktail); 7 pm (to be seated)

Venue: Della & Seng Gee Guild Hall, Kent Ridge Guild House

Dress Code: Any NUSS Top (Polo T-shirt) with Jeans and covered shoes

Fees: $25 per pax (after 50% section subsidy)

Notice is hereby given for the Badminton Section AGM to be held as follows:

Date: Sunday, 12 January 2020   

Time: 12pm (Registration and lunch starts at 11am)

Please see attached for the AGM 2018 minutes and the nomination form for Badminton Section Convenor. Please submit the completed nomination form at the KRGH Reception or email to jocelyntan@nuss.org.sg or fax to 6778 8095.  Kindly note that all nominations must be received by 6pm, 7 January 2019 (Tuesday). Only 1 Nomination Form is to be submitted.

Kindly take note of the following Regulations

Article 34.2: "No person shall be eligible for election to a Convenership unless the person has been a Life, Ordinary, Associate Member for at least one year preceding the date of the election. Spouse Members who meet the membership admission criteria to be an Ordinary or Associate member shall also be eligible for election to a Convenership."

Article 40.2: "The business of the AGM shall be to elect a Section Convenor, to receive the report and accounts of the preceding year and to transact any other business relating to the section. The annual accounts of the Section shall only be confirmed after audit has been conducted by the auditors appointed by the Society."

Article 40.5: "No business shall be transacted at any General Meeting unless a quorum of members is present at the time the meeting proceeds to business. Twenty percent of the Section Members or 35 Section Members (whichever is lower) having the right to vote present in person shall form a quorum."

Article 40.6: "If within 30 minutes of the time appointed for the meeting, a quorum is not present, the meeting, if called by the requisition of members, shall be dissolved. In any other cases, it shall stand adjourned to such day and time as the Section Committee may determine."

Article 40.7: "Not less than 14 days' notice of any General Meeting and three (3) days' notice of an adjourned General Meeting must be given."

Article 41.1: "Only official Section Members who have been in the Section for at least 6 months shall be entitled to one vote at any General Meeting of the Section."

Article 41.2: "A vote shall be given in person."
