MPH Update

Hi All,

Yesterday, just before I joined you guys to play at Sheares Hall, I managed
to take some more pictures of the MPH.

The inside walls and ceiling are partially in place, giving a more accurate
picture of how the hall will look like. But more needs to be done before
its final completion.

Exam is over... we are back to Sheares...

MPH status

Hi All

Our MPH is pretty much covered. It has a roof for protection from the sun
and rain and its outer walls are being plastered.
They are putting up the ceiling boards and hopefully the height will be
adequate for Davis' high serves.

Pretty soon they will remove all the odds and ends from within and start to
cement the floor before adding on the special flooring tiles. The special
lighting should complete the interior after the inside walls have been put
up and painted.

Keep your patience and we shall be rewarded in the end.

And to all our representatives for tonights' Inter-club matches against SSC,
good luck and may you give of your best.

SSC-WOS INTER-CLUB MASTERS LEAGUE: Friday, 6 Nov 2009 - WGCC vs NUSS - Results

Hi team,

Here are the results for tonight's home game against Warren Golf Club (WGCC) where we won 6-3! We have now 3 wins &  2 losses and are currently in 3rd place (behind SSC and Mayflower).



Our final game will be crucial as we are playing Premier Badminton party (PBP) who are currently lying in 4th position. If we beat PBP, then we are confirmed as 3rd place.

PBP beat both Evergreen & Warren 5-4 but lost to SSC 8-1. Against Warren, PBP lost the following matches: men's doubles cba 70 yrs (match #1), men's doubles cba 80 yrs (match #2), Ladies and Mixed but won the rest.

MPH Update

The skeleton is fast disappearing. It is now covered with a skin of red bricks which will soon fill up the entire facade and sides.
Then it will be plastered up and paint will be applied to enhance its looks further. A steel roof structure has now become its temporary hat.

Yes our MPH is now shaping up much better than before.
Have a little more patience and very soon you will witness another transformation to its inside.

SSC-WOS INTER-CLUB MASTERS LEAGUE: Friday, 16 Oct 2009 - NUSS vs CBC - Results

Hi all,

Here are the results for yesterday's home game against CBC where we won 6-3! That's 2 wins now....

Match report
The ladies doubles (Eunice/Yee Fong) and Joxan/De Yun started first. We lost the former and won the latter. Result 1-1. Up next was Charles/Kenneth and Michael/Ken. The 2 pairs played extremely well and won their matches to give us a 3-1 lead.

Next was Adrian/Francis and KC/Wong Cheng. Both matches went to rubber set. KC/Wong Cheng managed to win narrowly to bring us to 4-1 and leaving us needing just 1 more match to seal the tie. Then Adrian/Francis lost (because we knew that David Ko/Davis would seal the tie for us!) for the overall score to be at 4-2.

Up stepped David Ko/Davis and the mixed doubles. We won the first set in mixed doubles but lost the first set for David/Davis. We eventually lost the mixed doubles but David/Davis came back strongly to seal the match and tie to give us an unassailable 5-3 lead.

Then Tony/Peter capped a memorable night by winning the last match.

Our next match against Warren will be important for us to win. If we beat Warren, we stand a good chance of 3rd position. Warren beat CBC 5-4 but they lost to SSC 7-2 in the first match.

2) Wed, 9 Dec 2009 - PBP vs NUSS (away) at Singapore Swimming Club.

SSC-WOS INTER-CLUB MASTERS LEAGUE: vs ESRC : 8 Oct Thursday - Results and drama

Hi team,

Here are the results for yesterday's away game against ESRC where we won 5-4!

We started off by taking a 2-1 lead (won match #1 & #4 but lost mixed doubles #9), then it went to 3-3 (won match #2 but lost on matches #3 & #5). After that we were down 4-3 (lost match #7) and thankfully the ladies doubles forced the tiebreak at 4-4 for us.

Then up stepped Wong Cheng/Tony to bring us home with a lot of heart, drama, blood (almost!) and sweat; as you can see from the scores below. Luckily Wong Cheng managed to rush over in time (the opponent even threatened to get a walkover) after his meeting and get onto court to play almost immediately... Well done. The match finally ended about 1030pm.



We're still on track for 3rd position.
